SfB Client Updated on Windows Phone

Updated: Apr 20, 2021

Microsoft updated the Windows Phone version of the Skype for Business client to version 6.1.1466.0, implementing what they describe as "bug fixes." I have noted that international dialing now works. Microsoft notified preview participants that a short list of countries cannot be dialed via SfB. Specifically:

  • Free International outbound calling to all countries, except for the following (which is subject to change throughout the program):

  • Antarctica, Burundi, Chad, Cook Islands, Cuba, East Timor, Falkland Islands (Malivnas), Gabon, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Kiribati, Democratic People's Republic of (North) Korea, Liberia, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritania, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, St. Helena, Tokelau, Tonga, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Vanuatu

Also, a more full list of contact info, with all numbers and at least the primary email address, now shows when you search or select a contact stored on the phone. With some contacts, the full list doesn't yet display. However, this is a problem with the sync of the contact from Exchange Online; the contact is missing information in the "People" pane of Windows Phone.
